Work burnout is a phenomenon that affects more and more professionals today, especially those employed in organizations with demanding and inflexible working conditions. Strict and demanding work hours, lack of motivation and support or excessive workload, are some factors that can gradually lead to burn out before we even realize it. Indeed, people who suffer from work burnout often do not know it or may have a suspicion that something is going wrong, but the daily rhythms of their lives are such that they do not have the time to notice the signs that their body and souls are sending them. So, let's see some signs of burn out:
- You feel a general tiredness and discomfort, physical and mental. Quite often you feel muscle aches or headaches, which intensify after an intense or stressful day at work. Signs of mental fatigue include a lack of interest in personal activities outside of work.
- Disordered or insufficient sleep. You may sleep enough hours, but you feel that your sleep does not rest you, since you feel tired even from the time you wake up in the morning. Or, you may even suffer from insomnia.
- Lack of interest and motivation. Your work no longer gives you satisfaction and you are not deriving pleasure from it. On the contrary, you see it as a means of survival and do not feel motivated to contribute and develop within it.
- Often, the signs of work burnout also appear through abrupt and irritable behaviors.
It is very important in any case to listen and observe our body and spirit and the signs they send us. When we become observers of what happens to us, then we can more easily understand it, accept it and take the necessary actions to proceed to changes, which will bring us closer to wellness and harmony.
